Misfire by US Helicopter at Syria near the Border of Iran

US military helicopters had a misfire attack on Syrian territory close to border with Iraq on Sunday October 26, 2008. Eight people were killed by this and government in Damascus destined as serious aggression.

US military official said that Special Forces targeted foreign fighter network that travels through Syria into Iraq but they were unable to find the network down in the area because Syria was out of the military’s reach.

Four helicopters attacked a civilian building under construction before sunset and fired on the workers inside the building, which was in Sukkariyeh Farm near the town of Abu Kamal, five miles inside the Syrian border.

US military supported the firing and said terrorists were died in the attack. Attack occurred only after two days of America send troops to secure the Syrian border, which was called as uncontrolled gateway for fighters entering the Iraq.

Government of Syrian said that 8 civilians were killed, including four children by the US helicopter attack.
